With influences
coming from the view of landscapes he has from the sky as a pilot, Patrick
Montagnac manages to transfer the erosion over time of mountain chains onto
canvas in an abstract poetic.
Patrick Montagnac’s
style combines surprising thickness of materials set side by side with fluid pigments.
The colors are a celebration on canvas and appear through different nuances and
structures.
The question
of the footprint left by a man and nature after the passage of time, but also
the manner in which they resist the forces of natural elements drives the
artist’s thoughts and inspires his work.
A generous painter,
Patrick MONTAGNAC commits to supporting different charity projects in France
and around the world. As he mentions “this the first purpose of career as a
painter, giving and helping is one of my major goals, this is the engine and
the fuel which give sense to my art.
For the last years,
this self-taught artist began stringing together exhibitions: Düsseldorf, New
York “Chelsea”, Rome, London, Paris and then Tokyo in the famous gallery
district of Ginza. During the Tokyo exhibition his canvases provoked deep
interest as the reliefs and contours of the paintings reminded the public of
Japanese calligraphy.
In 2015 Patrick
Montagnac’s canvases were exposed to the public in Amsterdam, Paris, Aix en
Provence, Barcelona, and at MOMAS (Museum of Modern Art Saitama) of Tokyo as
special guest and also as a new member of the Japanese group of artists, the
CAFN (Contemporary Art Festival Nubula).
For 2016 until 2019,
Montagnac’s paintings were presented at Tunis « French Embassy », in
Shanghai for an international exhibition, Geneva. Then Patrick Montagnac went
to Russia to participate in 2 events, among which one was organized at the
French Embassy in Moscow.
