Dora Moneti Faggin (São Paulo, Brazil, 1975) is an artist and cultural researcher who explores power, memory, and collective space through material practice and ethnographic inquiry. Her work—ranging from textile installations in contested landscapes to behavioral studies for social impact—exposes the invisible threads between cultural narratives and lived experience.
Trained in History (University of São Paulo), Social Studies (Birkbeck College), and Fine Arts (Ar.Co Lisboa), she intertwines critical analysis and tactile storytelling, revealing how environments shape identity and agency. From 2008 to 2018, Dora honed her craft through continuous engagement in carpentry and sculpture workshops in São Paulo. Since 2018, she has been based in Lisbon, where she continues to develop her artistic practice.
In 2022, Dora undertook an artistic residency at the Convento dos Capuchos in Caparica, culminating in a solo exhibition featuring a site-specific installation in the convent’s cloister. She was selected as a finalist for a group exhibition at Ar.Co in 2023. Both took place in Portugal.
Her work has gained international recognition, leading to invitations to the 2nd Kommagene Biennial (Turkey, 2024), the 2nd Turkish Textile Biennial (Antalya, 2025), and the Sensory Summer exhibition at Al Hosh Gallery in Doha, Qatar. In 2025–2026, she was selected for a residency at the Taoxichuan Art Center in Jingdezhen, China, and for the 10th Masaha Residency at Misk Art Institute in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
Since 1998, Dora has created site-responsive interventions in urban spaces across São Paulo, London, Almada, and Lisbon. Since 2022, she has maintained a studio at the Padaria do Povo Cultural Cooperative in Lisbon, where she develops her artistic practice.
Beyond art, Dora is an active member of a political organization, leading initiatives focused on equity, social inclusion, and community empowerment.
Her work across these diverse fields forms an ongoing conversation.
