I was born in Divjakë, on 7th November 1953, a country located between a lagoon and the sea,
and its natural beauties inspired my interest in painting and sculpture.
During school and high school years, paint and sculpt were instinctive for me and, when I
started high school, I began to receive the first positive impressions for my creations, which
were portraits of my friends and teachers, and I began to be aware of art in me and the deep
connection that I demonstrated then. The first unofficial exhibitions began in this time.
Between December 1979 and the first months of 1980, I presented the first official exhibition,
with my best paintings of the years after high school, when I worked as set-designer and
advertising. The critics and positive comments from art experts and journalists have strengthen
my connection with art and have oriented my artistic future choices.
My ambitions drove me to prepare seriously for the entrance test to the National Academy of
Fine Arts in Tirana. Despite I was rejected for two years in a row, I was encouraged to continue
to chase my goal of career in the art field thanks to the interest that visitors and teachers showed
for my works.
I began to study at the University in the course of Biochemistry, continuing to paint and sculpt
and participating in national collective exhibitions with great critics to my creativeness. In this
period, I had the chance to win an atelier, gave by the Government, in my birthplace. At the
beginning of the 80s I began to work as a Biochemistry and Art professor in various schools.
In 1989 I achieved the second personal exhibition (Pallati I Kulturës, Divjakë, Galeria e Arteve,
Lushnjë) with good results and critic analysis in several newspapers, State Television, in which
important figures in the arts field, such as Dritëro Agolli, Naum Prifti, Gaqo Bushaka have
expressed their positive opinions.
In 1991, I lost the atelier which the Government gave me, because of the harsh social-political quarrels and public disorder in Albanian society.
I was forced to emigrate in Italy in January 1994, due to the difficult economic situation
and the dramatic situation in Albanian society. I began a new difficult life, I received many
orders of paintings and sculptures, which I was forced to sold with low prices and that
sometimes arrived to the costumers with a different signature.
Waiting for the right opportunity, I partecipated to a collective exhibition in Corato
(Bari) in August 1997. It brought me very positive critics from various analysts and journalists.
In May 1998 I was in Rome for work, and I displayed some works in a collective exhibition,
organized by the “Breshka Gallery”. The outcome was unexpected, with much interest by
critics and viewers and I began to receive authentic artistic commissions.
In 1998, in October, I moved in Verona and I began to work with marble and I realized
the first works for a great exhibition. My atelier began to be attended by global known artists,
as Pino Castagna, and various critics and journalists.
In 2009, I registered in SBAV (Società Belle Arti Verona) and I took part to all the
collective exhibition that were organized in Italy and abroad, while I continued to create works
to display, with 70 marble sculptures, 30 ceramic sculptures, 30 bronze sculptures and more
than 100 oil pictures.
On the occasion of the 2015’s exhibitions, I knew with the art critic Prof.sa Maria
Teresa Prestigiacomo, who presented me in many personal exhibitions:
Bruxelles in January 2016 Paris in 2017 Vatican City in 2017 “Medina Gallery” in Rome in 2018
In 2020, Elena Cardinali presented my personal exhibition “Nudo d’Anima” in Verona,
with the Vera Meneguzzo’s critic.
In May-June 2022, I presented a personal Exhibition in Villa Venier (Verona), with Prof.
Francesco Butturini’s critic.
