MONALISA(Risa Isomi)

Born 1986 in USA, New York. Lives and works in Tokyo, Japan.

I'm a painter and my painting style is surreal and a little bit pop taste is included. Started artist activity since 2011, exhibit at galleries and cafes many times so far. At the beginning, I made optical illusion art with handwritten and digital art those mix together, however few years later I changed to focus on painting. My artwork theme is "Escape from reality",  normally people would probably think, escaping from reality is not a good thing. But I think, there is so much pain and darkness in this world that we need to escape sometimes. I want people to escape from all that when they see my art, I'm happy to see a kind of healing in them.
