Mohssin Harraki works with drawing, video, installation, photography and performance, as means of questioning social and political issues. He questions cultural construction as well as post-colonial consequences and collective imaginaries. He is interested in topics such as genealogy, the transmission of power, and the formation of collective consciousness.
He generally proceeds through dialogue, whether with his peers, artists, or with people he meets, such as during his “Fasting” intervention in 2011 in Toulon. In his installations, he also explores the themes of books and writing, which he diverts from their traditional uses. Overall, all of Harraki's projects aim to explore the mechanisms of cultural construction and the constitution of memory and the collective imagination.
