Education:2000 B.F.A..Dept..of Visual Arts, Korea National University of arts(Seoul. South Korea)1997 B.F.A..Dept..of Visual Arts, Sejong University (Seoul. South Korea)Project / The artist statementWith the theme of 'The city of coexistence', Minkyn Park has made lots of artworks for many years and they have showed the process of communication change due to digital technology and the current communication in a coexistence space transcending time and space. The coexistent city has expressed by paper and fabric overlaid with printed digital code for the first time and the objects for his artworks have expended to wooden cube, iron loop and the sand last for ten years.
The coexistent city presents the topic with symbolic signs and guides it to the virtual space where analog history and digital imagination meet and brings out social interaction and communion from the spectators. The uniformity of mass society and a cross section of the city are exposed in the form of cubes and a number of loops arranged at regular intervals. A large number of small iron loops are connected by shadows and reflect the shape of people living in the city. In the background of a solid color, the lines connecting the objects and the shadows which are derived from the objects create a city that is woven together like a net. The connection of loops is the trajectory of the artists' life and the work, and the trajectory of the city and the people who long for coexistence. The coexistence that people perceive begins with mutual interest, but actually hides numerous conditions and creates endless links. The space of coexistence must conform to the laws of nature and require constant expansion. The process of change of communication method by digital technology is expressed as a huge river of history that cannot go against.ExhibitionsSolo Show 10timesSolo: 2018 / Coexistent City / Dream Forest Art Center / Seoul / KoreaSolo: 2018 / Park Minkyu Solo Invitation / Gangneung Museum of Art / Gangneung / KoreaSolo: 2017 / Coexistent City / Gallery GL / Gunpo / KoreaSolo: 2016 / Loop Interchange / Nina Torres Fine Art / Miami / USASolo: 2015 / Digital Nomad / Gallery artbn / Seoul / KoreaSolo: 2014 / Periscope Absorbing Times / Hangeon Art Center / Seoul / KoreaSolo: 2013 / Loop of Life / Hangaram Art Gallery / Seoul / KoreaGroup Show 150times+Group: 2018 / KAFA: Korea Art Festival Art Fair / KINTEX / Ilsan / KoreaGroup: 2018 / Art Amoy / International convention center / Xiamen / ChinaGroup: 2017 / Yeosu International Art Festival / Yeosu Expo / Yeosu / KoreaGroup: 2017 / World Tour New York / One Art Space Gallery / New York / USAGroup: 2016 / Art Busan - International Art Fair/ Bexco / Busan / KoreaGroup: 2016 / ASYAAF / DDP: Dongdaemun Design Plaza / Seoul / KoreaGroup: 2016 / KIAF: Korea International Art Fair / COEX / Seoul / KoreaGroup: 2015 / Welcome to Pyeong-chang / Pyeong Chang Art Center / Pyeongchang / KoreaGroup: 2015 / Asia Artists Association / Seongnam Art Center / Seongnam /KoreaGroup: 2015 / La Art Show / LA Convention Center / Los Angeles / USAGroup: 2015 / Art Canvas Project / Kunst Direkt Gallery / GermanyAwards / Biennials2018 / Asian Art Biennale Bangladesh / Bangladesh National Museum / Dhaka / Bangladesh2018 / The 37th Grand Art Exhibition of Korea / Critics’ Award / KFAA / Korea2017 / Korea Young Artist Award / Excellence Award / Vivaldi Art Center / Siheung / Korea2013 / The Grand Art Exhibition of Korea / Selected / Seoul Museum of Art / Seoul / KoreaMain Collections 2018 / Coexistent City, 2018 Mixed Media on Canvas, 65.1 x 65.1cm/ Yeoungil Precision Inc. / Gwangmyeong / Korea2017 / Coexistent City, 2017 Mixed Media on Canvas, 114 x 112cm / MMCA / Gwacheon / Korea2017 / Digital Nomad, 2017 Mixed Media on Canvas, 120 x 195cm/ Gold Line Inc. / Gunpo / Korea2016 / Become One, 2015 Mixed Media on Canvas, 130 x 130cm / Gold Line Inc. / Gunpo / Korea2013 / QR Code-Windows, 2013 Mixed Media on canvas, 1500 x 2500cm / KICT / Ilsan / Korea
