From painting to engraving, drawing is master…I like to tell maritime stories through color and abstraction.
My name is Evelyne Michel Stefanello. After a first career as a nurse practitioner and associate professor at INSA Lyon, I now devote myself entirely to the visual arts, between France and Italy.
Since 2024, I have been an artist-in-residence at the Scuola Internazionale di Grafica in Venice, where I continue my work in engraving and drawing, and develop the project Magellan, le passage.
From 2020 to 2023, I continued my training at the Academy of Fine Arts in Palermo, Scuola libera del nudo — Disegno dal vero & pittura section, where I practiced painting, engraving, sculpture, and anatomy. I also took part in the workshop-performance Un ponte di carta tra Palermo & Tokyo, directed by Nofushige Akiyama.
Between2018 and 2020, I studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Naples (Scuola libera del nudo, Painting/Engraving section). I actively participated in the installation Il giardino incantato at the Palazzo Reale in Naples and in A levante del sole, directed by Uemon Ikeda. I also organized a group exhibition: Rosso Vesuvio — Erasmus dell’Accademia di Belle Arti in 2018.
In 2018, I held a solo exhibition, Le geste et la couleur (The Gesture and the Color), at the Chazelles-sur-Lyon Tourist Office.
Between2016 and 2018, I completed my training with a D.U.G. in art therapy at Lyon II University.
From2008 to 2015, I trained in the visual arts at the École Nationale des Beaux-Arts in Lyon. During this period, I took part in modèle vivant (life drawing) workshops and collective projects. I worked on large formats, genre scenes inspired by mountain photographs and interviews with models (acrylic technique). I also participated in the Les Automnales art salons in Crémieu in 2012 and 2013, as well as the Peindre en liberté competition in Morestel in 2012 and 2013.
