My name is Ana Sofia, and I was born in Mexico City. I moved to Brazil at a very early age, due to my mother being Brazilian. I spent most of my child hood in São Paulo. It was hard and interesting growing up with two cultures in my household, but I am thankful because it taught me to look at life from an angle few see. Not being able to fully belong in a culture is very hard, but creates sensitivity to other’s struggles. I never thought art would become my oasis, where every culture that is a part of me could exist peacefully. It is where colors, and shapes, and memories have a place without fear of clashing, creating something beautiful I get to share with others. I have known art was the path I would take since the age of 3, and have never doubted it. I would say my favorite thing about it is the many possibilities to create. Creativity itself is freeing and has space for anyone who wants to belong. To create like the one who created me, to be in His image, showing What He looks like; A Creator who calls us His beloved. I am currently majoring in Studio Art, at Oral Roberts University, and plan to graduate in May 2023. I don’t know what life will look like after, but am awaiting with excitement to embrace the strokes it will carry.
