LIVES AND WORKS
LIVES AND WORKS
I am a professional artist in digital arts. I worked as a professor in digital design during 22 years at Cegep Edouard-Montpetit, Longueuil, QC, Canada. My tools are drawing, photography, video, sound editing and animation. The exploration of new technologies, including augmented reality adapted to the enrichment of the representation of pictorial works, serves as a driving force for my artistic approach.
Since 2020, my artworks have been presented in galleries and on the internet in Europe (Vienna, Prague, Rome, Venice, Berlin) and in the United States (New York, Tucson, Arizona). In July 2020, I participated in an international exhibition in Austria on augmented reality. In 2021, I won the FEMALE ART INSPO awards in Prague https://www.myartinspo.com/about
In 2020/21, I created a cycle of artworks representing endangered species. Defenders of the environment and animals like Homero Gomez or Dian Fossey inspired me. I shoot my own photo, do digital editing and make 2D animations in AR to enhance the creations.
During the same years, I created another cycle of twenty digital artworks
made from my original images, 2D animations , photos and also from Public
Domain sources (NASA). I'm interested by the universe, the celestial bodies
and the nebulae. My inspiration comes from my observation of the events that affect our
societies. Since 2019, our environment has been affected by various crises:
climate, Covid-19, humanitarian crises. My body of work includes works dealing
with the situation of Afghan women. In March 2022, I participated in a
fundraiser for Ukraine with the Berlin Modular Society in support of
Prague-based Freedom Boxes. The organization organizes transports of refugees
from Poland to the Czech Republic. My augmented reality work, Stand with
Ukraine, depicts an eye embedded in the Lyre Nebula. An eye that
observes, feels, analyzes, and then leads to react to current events that
upset the whole world. Stand with Ukraine was presented at the Artbox
Expo of the Venice Biennale in May 2022. It was also selected by Culture
Montérégie, Quebec, Canada, to be exhibited in their gallery in Longueuil, QC
from August 10, 2022 until August 9, 2023. https://culturemonteregie.qc.ca/initiatives/exposition-culture-monteregie/
These artworks can be published online, in print magazine or presented in a museum or Gallery.
My theme: our link to time, to the evolution of our humanity, to the permanence of things. A reflection on challenges, precariousness, chaos, at the same time as on stability, constancy and peace.
