I studied classics and art. I have always been passionate
about art and art history, I continuously dedicate myself to the study of
artists of every historical era and I collect books and monographs. My passions, in addition to art, are yoga,
meditation and the study of oriental philosophies. I love silence, nature and
animals, from which I draw peace and inspiration. I also work as an interior
designer and consultant in interior decoration.
I grew up with my works, with which I have always tried to
express and transmit messages that reflect on existential concepts and values,
essential for me, as I believe for every human being. Especially in this
historical period of humanity, in which the only hope for each of us is to
choose to listen to and indulge our soul, to notice and live the beauty that
surrounds us and preserve it, embracing and cultivating those values that make
us divine beings.
My passion for art and philosophy led me to design and
create works and artifacts that had for me both a visual-aesthetic value and a
philosophical-conceptual meaning. I started from abstract expressionism and
action painting, then my works became more and more "abstractive" and
"conceptualized", in an attempt to materialize, give shape and
consistency to abstract, metaphysical ideas, values, principles and concepts.
For me, art is first and foremost a philosophical activity,
an attempt to make the invisible visible, to express transcendental, spiritual
values.
A constant search for signs, shapes, colors, images and even
words that can express existence and all the investigation into its true
meaning. Each sign, shape, color and word, has one or more meanings that I have
tried to investigate and then communicate in a personal way.
Aspiration
rather than inspiration, is the
tendency, the passion, to create works that have a beauty and a meaning for
those who create them but also for those who observe them and want to reason or
reflect on them. Given that artistic work is always born from a deep work on
oneself that lasts a lifetime, it must as such be the bearer of a message, it
must have a meaning.
For me, art must be committed, committed to criticism, to
the pars destruens, but also to proposing, to creating value, to the pars
construens. Art is culture, it must go back to being culture, not just a
market, spectacularization or self-referential art.
There are endless criticisms to be made in modern society,
from economics to politics, from society to culture. A society in which I
hardly integrate and recognize myself, made up of greed, indifference and
inhumanity.
Precisely for this reason, my art does not want to be
"destruens", it does not want to make a critique or ruthless analysis
of the system or of the various atrocities we are witnessing, wars, injustices,
social inequalities, misery, ignorance, devastation of the environment,
cultural degradation and social homologation.
My art wants to be "Construens", it wants to make
a positive contribution, a contribution to make people reflect on beauty and on
the positive values of existence, because only by being inspired by these
values, these ideals, can we find a way to save ourselves.
Only by reminding ourselves of the values transmitted by
years of philosophical, spiritual, religious thought, literature, poetry and
art, can we improve, we can elevate ourselves and try to stop and reverse what is
happening in the world in this tragic historical moment.
