The languages of colours ”
The art of Tatjana Meier is international. Her biography explains the adaptation of different cultures. Born in Russia, Tatjana Meier studied languages in Russia (Orenburg) and Germany (Dresden) and frequented at the same time art courses at the academies of arts (Orenburg, Leipzig). Through the journeys abroad and studing different techniques she united in her art Russian, German and Italian traditions.
Since 2008 Tatjana Meier takes part at art fairs, art auctions, exhibitions in different countries, organizes international art projects with her students. She works conceptually on various topics, mostly in series. The starting point of every painting is her own experience, something what touched her soul.
"..In this way, trips to Italy inspired atmospheric ruins - surreal places of the past. Dynamic curves of the costumes in Carnevale di Venezia make the characters appear disembodied and abstract. Pianos, inspired by a Dresden exhibition, are strangely alienated by unusual perspective and mirror effects; the subtle chromatics of subdued colors emphasize the affinity for music. Whether surreal-alienating, literary-symbolizing or natural-dynamic - Tatjana Meier transforms visual appearances and ideas into individual aesthetics."Marina Linares, art historian
