Mégan Faivre is a painter, poet and printmaker. Her visual artwork depicts an exploration of the unlimited potentiality of chromatic and tonal scales within a two dimensional framework. As her technique evolves, she increasingly focuses her research on the diversity of play opportunities linked with color, shape and composition, mostly on medium- and large-scale pieces. The artist works in a reduced figurative vocabulary, dismantling the three-dimensional optical effect while her composition and printed surfaces explore the tension between the arrangement of colors and materiality on paper or canvas.
Born in 1986, Mégan Faivre received an academic education in Art History, French and Fine Arts in Lausanne (UNIL), Basel (HGK) and Zurich (ZHdK). After graduating, Mégan moved to Boston for 3 years and currently lives in Grimisuat, Switzerland.
Between 2022 and 2024, a series of paintings with a dense materiality was created: "Complétude". It was born of a visceral need to come into contact with a mystery, and resulted in numerous paintings superimposed on the same canvas. This quest first turned towards an elusive mystery in spiritually-charged architectural and natural settings, and then led her to explore the depths of being, between corporality and immateriality.
