Born and raised in Lindsborg, Kansas, on April 20, 1971, I developed a strong passion for art from an early age. Growing up, I spent countless hours in my mother's art studio, exploring different mediums and nurturing my creativity.
After completing my education, I embarked on an unexpected career path as a flight attendant for United Airlines. However, everything changed drastically on September 11, 2001. That tragic day affected me deeply as three of my students were among the victims. It was a profound moment that shifted my perspective and ignited a new purpose within me.
Motivated by the desire to make a difference in the lives of others, I decided to transition into the field of education. I obtained teaching certification and dedicated myself to working with young children. I found solace and healing in teaching Pre-K and Kindergarten, witnessing the curiosity and resilience of young minds.
In 2020, amidst a global pandemic and subsequent quarantine, I discovered an avenue to express my emotions and connect with others through art. I joined The Art Beat Club as an Art Beat Angel and had the privilege of being mentored by the esteemed artist Marenthe Otten. This experience not only honed my artistic skills but also broadened my perspective on the power of art as a means of communication.
As I delved further into painting, art became more than just a creative outlet; it became a way for me to channel my emotions and create heartfelt pieces that resonate with others. I found myself using my artwork to raise awareness and support numerous causes close to my heart.
Through my art, I aspire to bring light to those who are experiencing pain or undergoing challenging circumstances. I aim to help them discover their own silver linings, reminding them of the resilience and strength that lies within. With each brushstroke, I hope to instill positivity and inspire others to find solace and hope through the healing power of art.
Today, I continue to create art that speaks to the human experience, drawing on my personal journey and the stories of those around me. It is my humble mission to touch lives and foster resilience, reminding others that there is beauty to be found even in the darkest of times.
