I genuinely love the landscape painting genre. My paintings may initially appear to be the result of direct observation. My work's creative inspiration comes not merely through my hikes, taking photographs, making sketches, and writing about what initially grabbed me about a given landscape. It is the deeper emotional meaning that entices me into and compels me to paint a particular scene.

That deeper meaning is much more than merely line, shape value, texture, and color. It is an emotional response and a passionate desire to capture that feeling in the paintings I create. My work is inspired by the joy that I experience, and the appreciation of creation set before me. I hope that my art depicts my initial impression and feelings of the scene that initially inspired me.
