Nogol Mazloumi (b. 1988, Tehran, Iran) field of working is mostly drawing, however for her last solo show she experienced new media such as video. She has a way of mixing different media on the paper to create many layers but her particular tool is the tiny head of a Rapidograph and pencil with which she puts together so many different textures and of course her patience and perseverance. Mazloumi main concern is human body and the reflections and perceptions of it in real world, though for presenting this Idea she makes a grotesque world with a touch of humor, especially in her second series the irony became bolder. Deformed bodies and misshaped creatures seemly floating in an indeterminate space representing her notion and concept of her idea about body. her latest project was about body and power. In this series she concentrated on politicians’ bodies. Although this concept became wider and the relation between politicians and their role in political arena are included with a little bit taste of irony.
