Andrea Mattia was born in 1972 in Assisi (Perugia), where he lives and works as a systems engineer and web master.
In 2007 he approached photography as a self-taught and subsequently trained technically by taking courses in Milan and Rome. He then began traveling between Lyon, Paris and Barcelona to take portraits and capture everyday life.
Between 2011 and 2013 he traveled to Miami three times as a documentary photographer for Earth Angel Outreach, working alongside investigative reporter Michele Gillen of CBS4, in order to take shots that document moments of daily life on the streets. A reportage that testifies to what it means to be homeless and the dangerous life of young people in the USA.
Some photos of the first stay in Miami participate in the collective Revolving Door Project in the Miami gallery in South Point Tower.
In the same year he held his first solo exhibition in Perugia, followed by those in Todi and Terni the following year.
This experience leads him to travel to continue investigating human life in the capitals and large cities of Europe. In particular, during a trip to Morocco in 2013, and then to Turkey, fascinated by the warm and lively tones, Mattia began to experiment with color photography.
After this experience he organized an exhibition that portrayed the lives of people filmed in the main cities of Morocco and in the city of Istanbul.
This experience led him to participate in various photographic competitions with some awards and special mentions, so in October 2021 he participated in the collective "Immagini in Mostra" in Rome in which the exhibition catalog and a personal showcase with the works of the exhibition were printed.
