Born in 1983, Mathilde discovered the pleasure of sketching little characters as a teenager. In 2005, as a student of fine art supplies, she naturally entered the infinite universe of painting.
16 canvases painted in 2 months and a first exhibition at La Brasserie de la Gare in Angers (49) where Mathilde took the name mAAdi, symbolically marking her journey as a self-taught artist.
Crossing different styles and landscapes, using Phtalo' blue for almost all her characters, mAAdi took her first steps in black light in 2012 thanks to Steeliver, a painter from Nantes.
A storyteller and actor in her spare time, she spontaneously creates little worlds built on chance, where the characters of her imagination silently tell their stories.
Many exhibitions later, mAAdi is now based in Annonay, Ardèche, with plans to open her Atelier-Gallery, where she welcomes artists, storytellers and musicians to offer journeys, little bubbles of elsewhere where the arts intermingle.
