I am a Belgian self-taught painter. I am living between Syracuse, in Sicily, and Berlin.
I paint on canvas, both in oil and acrylics. My perception of nature is reflected in the expressive tones of my paintings through dynamic energy and spontaneous gestures.
At the beginning of my carrier, I was influenced by Impressionist and Expressionist styles; many of my oil paintings were realized “alla prima”, with soft and strong brush strokes. In the last three years, I have become interested in contemporary abstract art.
I continuously try to experiment new techniques, medium and styles.
I prepare the canvas for oil by a construction of many layers often thicker, with an overlapping of colors.
When I paint with acrylics, the process is faster with a net impact from the beginning. My acrylic paintings do not require layers; everything is soft and rapid for a final minimalist effect. Anyway, I enjoy very much the combination of these two so different medium. My work is always the result of a combination between light, colours and forms.
My artworks are part of private collections in Belgium, France, Germany, Italy, United Emirates, and USA…
