II am Belgian and, for the last six years, I have been living in Sicily, more precisely in Ortigia, the cradle of Syracuse.
My emotions really affect my paintings and I define myself a bit impressionist and a bit expressionist. In fact, the constant change and the power of nature are reflected in the expressive tones of my pictures full of dynamic energy and spontaneous gestures. Besides, if I tend more to my interiority, my chromatic expression could become more gloomy or violent, sometimes caricatural.
I paint on canvas, mainly in oil. I have been captivated by the softness of this medium, the beauty of the volutes created when the pigments mingle. But acrylics too can bring me in a heavenly setting.
I feel happiness as I search for the right shade for my painting or as I mix the colors directly on the canvas. For this reason, my brushstroke is often curvy although in recent times, I am becoming more minimalist.
The last three years have been fruitful from a professional point of view, with numerous solo and group exhibitions, as well as participations in national and international competitions.
Several of my paintings are now part of private collections in Milan, Paris, Brussels, Dubai and New York.
