Filipe Mariano, born in 1987, in a neighborhood in the south of São Paulo, Brazil
Raised in the city of São Paulo, where in his childhood he began to explore his artistic side, with musical instruments, drawings in his high school notebook. Ocean lover, used to go to the beach with some friends for surf.
At the beginning of his adolescence, he started to work in the small clothing company that his father and mother had in São Paulo, where they produced “uniforms” for corporate companies.
Right from the start, I realized that it was missing something. In 2012 I decided to create my own clothing brand, where I started to create my own collections, with different designs and colors.
Then I started to discover my passion for ‘’ART’’.
During the first collection I also started to create all visual photography content for the brand when I found a new ‘’passion’’ the photography.
When I started the clothing brand, my father gave me a small garage that he had in his company for me to set up my showroom and storage, where I invited people to check my collections and i open the garage for public as well.
After 4 years i was selling all my clothing collection for the entire Brazil, where people could buy online or in different resellers around Brazil
All creations were connected to ART, surf, Cities and nature
I believe that when entrepreneurship involves art, there is always a differential, because we create something unique and exclusive.
My desire for entrepreneurship was always very strong, I used to skate with a great friend, in a park in São Paulo, where we went every afternoon; however we ended up meeting a lot of people, and even inspiring a lot of people to practice ‘’longboard’’. On weekends we used to go to some different slopes, always looking for nature and a good location… One day we decided to create a Longboard event in the countryside of São Paulo in a privileged location, where we started to call several friends and created this event on facebook; we invited bands, brands and got sponsors.
After the second edition of the event, we were already the biggest Longboard event in Brazil.
We didn't have the objective of competition, we just wanted everyone have fun
After a few years running the clothing brand I decided to create a brand house experience in São Paulo where I could connect people who somehow appreciated the brand's values, aiming to be a facilitator of artistic access.
After 2 years I decided to take this concept to Bali, where in 2020 I founded the Mimpi Grocery space, an artistic space in the Canggu, where I explore all my creativity, and still empower and give everyone opportunity to create.
During this construction journey in Bali, I started to explore more my creative side; drawings, paintings…where some opportunities for partnerships with brands and companies started to pop out
However, I see a lot of passion and desire to do new things and keep inspiring…..
