José Miguel
Mardones biography
José Miguel Mardones is an architect with studies at Universidad de Talca and
Universitá Degli Studi di Genova. Has collaborated with differents offices such
as Pop Arq in Buenos Aires, 51-1 in Lima and Susuka in Santiago de Chile and
the Latin American Collective Supersudaca. In 2010 founded his studio
Archmotion, carrying out projects at differents scales and contexts such as
Chile, Argentina, Perú, USA, Angola, China, United Arab Emirates, Lithuania and
Russia. Locally, he is developing projects with territorial impact in the
region that contribute to local economies, such as renewal and post earthquake urban
initiatives, the survey of the andes mountain tourism potential and the
enhancement of archaeological resources.
One of its latest projects has been the enhancement of an indigenous cementery
with more than 10.500 years old, the oldest in Latin America, published in Diario
El País de España and selected for the Eduwik Architecrture Excellence Awards

He is director and curator of Estudio Simbiotika in Talca, Central Valley of Chile.
Simón
Fuentes belongs to a group of visual artist who best represents the current art
of the Maule region. Between the 1990/1992 studied graphic Design at Randwick
College of Tafe in Sydney, Australia. For more than 20 years it has developed
extensive plastic research around adobe (mudbrick). In 2022 he made the
installation Walls in the Talca Regional Library. In 2003 he presented the
Signals Installation Parallels in the GAC Contemporary Art Gallery of the
Universidad de Talca. In 2004 he presented the “Al Centro” installation and in
2005 the S/N Visual Residues in Gabriel Pando Gallery. In 2005 he presented
sculpture/art and objects at Banco estado in Santiago de Chile and the same
year the “Aire” installation in the Calligraphic Gallery in Molina and “Instalaciones
Cartográficas de Localización” in Galería Gabriela Mistral in Santiago de
Chile. In 2012 he presented the installation “Family Basket” in the
Metropolitan Gallery in the context of the 2nd Santiago Art
Triennial. In 2013 “Transferencias Trasatlánticas” in Sala de Carga, a
projects by Luis Paraíso (Madrid, Spain) and Luis Baptista (Lisboa, Portugal). In the same way has participated in activities
that reflect the research and plastic creation such like “Puro Chile” workshops
and conversations in Cuencua, Ecuador or artistic residence in Lincoln, Buenos
Aires, Argentina. In 2018 he participated in the Nomad Art Biennial in Cuenca,
Ecuador.
He is director and curator of Estudio Simbiotika in Talca, Central Valley of Chile.
