My name is Angelica Manganaro, known artistically as AngelinaEmme. I was born in Rome in 1995, where I currently live and work. I hold a degree in Pharmacy from the University of Rome Tor Vergata and work in my family's pharmacy.
My artistic journey began in 2019, when I started painting as a self-taught artist. Over time, I refined my pratice through specialized courses in painting and photography. Alongside this, I developed a deep interest in photography and visual storytelling, studying lighting, cinematography, and Photoshop at Officine Fotografiche, and later attending a private studio photography course with photographer Roberto Stephenson.
In October 2022, I participated in a group exhibition at Galleria Simmi in Rome. In 2023, I held my first solo exhibition in Rome at Libreria Eli, curated by Alessandra Maria Sette. In 2024, I was selected as a finalist for the photography award "l am”, organized by Roma Fotografia and the Municipality of Rome, and exhibited my work at the Museo Nazionale Romano, Palazzo Massimo. During the same year, I presented my second solo exhibition at Soho House Rome and won the Art Project competition promoted by Fair Legals in collaboration with the LUISS Business School Master in Art Management, which led to my third solo exhibition. In 2025, I was awarded first prize in the Photography Section of the Premio Arte organized by Cairo Editore.
My work often takes the form of carefully staged tableaux vivants inspired by theatre, fashion, and advertising-fields that have always fascinated me. For each project, I create a photographic image and print it using industrial materials, transforming photography into a multidimensional narrative experience.
Every work is rooted in autobiography: a fragment of my life reinterpreted through irony, symbolism, and visual storytelling. Influenced by artists such as Luigi Ontani and Cindy Sherman, I explore the relationship between art and life, dissolving the boundaries between personal experience and collective narrative. Through the representation of my own path of growth and self-discovery, I invite viewers to reflect on their own journeys and transformations.
Meticulously crafted cinematic settings become symbolic self-portraits in which everyday life and introspection coexist. My works frequently incorporate paintings, garments, and objects that create specifically for each project, enhancing the narrative strength and emotional resonance of every image.
