Carlos Luna James, known as MGOGLKTKO, is a visionary multimedia installation artist and designer from Juarez Chih, a vibrant border-town in Mexico. His work spans creative direction, art direction, animation, and motion graphics, reflecting an innovative blend of physical and digital art that creates immersive experiences.
Born in Ciudad Juarez, a town rich in history and culture, Carlos was deeply influenced by the dynamic environment of his hometown. He moved to Guadalajara to pursue a degree in Design at the prestigious Jesuit College (ITESO), one of Mexico’s top institutions for design education. In 2007, Carlos relocated to Los Angeles looking for a better future.
Carlos, began his career as a graphic designer, later joining FOX Studios as a digital art director. In this role, he developed and implemented cutting-edge strategies in digital design, animation, and motion graphics, contributing to premium storytelling for companies like FOX, Universal, Disney, DreamWorks, Sony, Relativity, TNT, and TBS. After 16 years in the entertainment industry, Carlos founded his own artist studio, dedicating himself fully to his art.
Carlos’s art is inspired by cultural hybridization, seamlessly blending science fiction, fantasy, culture, and technology. His installations incorporate digital screens, projectors, sound design, and video mapping, reflecting an optimistic, empathetic, and conscious worldview.
His work has been showcased at galleries, art fairs, and festivals. In early 2020, Carlos ventured into the realm of web3 and NFTs, transforming his artistic path. His NFT pieces have been displayed at NFT Liverpool and NFT NYC, including the prestigious Sotheby's Contemporary Art Day Auction in London. Collaborations with prominent figures such as TIME Magazine, the Latin Grammys, music producer - Timbaland, and the influencer - Jake Paul, have solidified his position as a leading voice in contemporary art.
