Matia
Luke artist was born in 2014; Instagram -@matia_luke- has been the
main visual site to follow her creations. Art, nature, animals... are
the concepts with which she works in her montages, full of
imagination and fantasy. The mannequins are the leitmotiv of their
scenarios and photography. Mannequins can appear as a human reference
or as a mere inanimate object, subject merely to aesthetics. Matia
Luke is interested in surprising the viewer through exploring the
non-limits of visual creativity. It is rigorous in execution and
detail, as well as in the effective transmission of the conceptual
message. There is also a place for unusual or funny-minded works, as
the creative process is often surprising in itself.
Matia
Luke made a shop window for the Coshop clothing store on the occasion
of the Sant Jordi feast in Barcelona in 2015. Another one was for a shop specialized in medieval decor
gifts and heraldry -Mon Medieval-on the
occasion of the feast of Sant Jordi in Montblanc, in Tarragona, 2016.
Matia
Luke made an artistic montage on the issue of migration for the
collective exhibition Baggage Not Declared, in Barcelona, 2017.
Matia
Luke has recently made an intervention in full burnt nature to raise
awareness about the importance of caring for and preserving forests.
In this case, the scene consisted of 49 pieces of mannequins painted
black, brown and grey to reaffirm the connection with nature and
verify that all, earth, animals and humans, are a unit. The event was
promoted by Cendrart in Maials, Lleida, Catalonia, 2019.
