At the age of 10, I created my first realistic painting.
At the age of 12, I decided to become a calligrapher. That was in 1994!
After studying calligraphy and typography, I worked for over twenty years as an art director. I became a visual artist, painter, and calligrapher, with a practice that unfolds at the intersection of graphic arts, painting, and typographic design. This dual experience nourishes an approach where the demands of the sign and composition interact with the expressiveness of the material and gesture.
And then one day, while standing at a pedestrian crossing, there was this look, this kiss, and then this opposite crossing. Thus was born "Neutral Zone." The concept of a visual approach based on line, black and white, and the image of the pedestrian crossing. In my recent compositions, the red heart symbolizes this suspended space where opposites meet: war and peace, chaos and harmony, conflict and tenderness.
My visual universe explores contrast, opposition, the difference of the other, to ultimately surprise and coexist in all forms of connection. The project is to develop the concept in other forms in painting, digital art, and scenography. What if we contrasted the writings? This is only the beginning...
Each work becomes a meeting place, an attempt at dialogue between opposing worlds, an invitation to look differently at the border that separates and connects.
