Lucca has been developing artistic work around color, light, and the sensory perception of the physical world. This practice immersed him in the history of art and science and in the study of practical means allowing him to set up experiments around these questions. He plays on several planes: on materials - by collecting pigments, glasses, etc. -, on the light which makes them visible: the natural light of a place or artificial light sources that he manufactures, finally on the physiological and cognitive aspects of color perception. Systematically, Lucca sought to test theoretical and scientific approaches to color that he drew from the literature, by developing a concrete practice with paint, glass, light. Lucca's most recent research aims to enrich, deconstruct and reconstruct the very definition of the concept of “color” and defying our common sense, using a tool allowing it to program the physical composition of the light.
