Artistically known as Esther Eeleene, she is a dancer, choreographer, and filmmaker born in Barcelona in 1999. Her career unfolds between Spain and South Korea, where she has explored K-pop, traditional Korean dance, and their fusion with Western contemporary movement. Through her work, she seeks to build intercultural bridges and expand the boundaries of choreography.
Experiencing different cultures has shaped her artistic voice. Drawing inspiration from both her roots and the worlds she encounters, her choreographies blend tradition and innovation, crafting a distinctive movement language full of contrasts.
Esther is known for merging multiple disciplines — dance, film, painting, performance, documentary, and visual storytelling. Her layered compositions create immersive worlds that invite reflection and emotion.
Her short video artwork Hello, My Name Is Blue won the 2024 Arte Laguna Prize, standing out among 10,000 entries. The work has also been exhibited at the CICA Museum (Korea) and in Shanghai (China).
Deeply involved in every stage of creation — from concept to completion — Esther sees art as a whole, where dance is just one element of a broader artistic universe. Her works explore essential questions of identity, society, and transformation, always reaffirming the beauty and intensity of life.
Her choreographic pieces have been presented at the Seoul Street Art Festival, Cita con la Danza Benicàssim, Valencia Dancing Forward, Daegu Dance Festival, Dyptik Studios, and Can Felipa (Barcelona), among others.
As a performer, she has danced at the Biennale of Dance in Venice, with IT Dansa, Valencia Dancing Forward, Visceral Dance Chicago, and Unaiuna.
Esther’s artistic vision is to create work that is open, playful, and capable of igniting curiosity in any viewer.
