Eduard Locota is a Romanian born in 1985, that represents the second generation of artists in the family. He connected with the " les beaux arts" from an early age, mainly inspired by the artistic practices of his fathers, who was a painter.
Though reciving Bachelor's degree in Cybernetics, his formal training began at Timisoara School of Arts/ Sculpture department, continuing at the University of Arts and Design in Timisoara / master's degree in sculpture.
With over 15 years of artistic practice, his focus is channeled almost exclusively on the once abundant natural resources such as fossil fuil, water, and even clean oxygen.
The excessive and unsustainable consumerism of the 21st Century welcomes us with a Darwinian transformation for both man and nature, the evolution which leads to the develpoment of a synthetic man, living in a synthetic nature. Heavy topics as regeneration and sustaiable environment are thrown into the arms of the future generation, that have not been born yet.
The artist's creations highlight the synthesis through alternative materials used, such as: synthetic marblle (resin and marble dust), synthetic resin (plexiglass), synthetic cement (Jasmonite), charcoal, burned wood, and so on.
His works have a powerful conceptual plasticity bu also physical plasticity; a concept that can be interpreted as modern works of 21st Century.
