Multidisciplinary artist Alexandra F. Light brings the many techniques she has
studied lifelong into each work. Raised in Washington DC, she trained in ballet
from the age of three at the Maryland Youth Ballet, School of American Ballet in
NYC, San Francisco Ballet School, and others; dance as inspiration an indelible
part of her process and approach. With the influences of classical dance, the
psychology of people, and her Jewish heritage, Light's artwork seeks to express
a fascination with order and chaos. From small and minimalistic to large and
abstract works, Light uses collage, acrylic, assemblage, and mixed media to
express this journey. Her artwork has been exhibited both nationally and
internationally and her choreographic works have been performed at such
institutions as The Modern Art Museum of Fort Worth and the Katzen Arts
Center of American University in Washington, DC. She is currently based in Fort
Worth, Texas.
