RODOLFO LEPRE detto RUDY
Architect and artist,
Rodolfo Lepre was born in Aquileia where he still lives and works. He
graduates from Venice
where he begins a research in art history. After having trod the
streets of the
figurative, he finds that material, gesture, absorption of coloured drawing,
the discovery of a now
expressive language open a totally new world. Abstraction doesn’t
denaturalize, but it
suggests a new vocabulary that liberates from the chains of the visual
and the already seen. It
is not about erasing reality, but on the contrary reinventing it,
substituting apparent
reality with a new intimate and often unknown reality. Poor
materials: sand, concrete
and colour, thus the work becomes tangible; an existential need,
the „mediator“ between
man and his spirit.
“Imperfection, for me, is
a source of inexhaustible joy, as it causes me to hold that
imperfection is more in
accordance with human nature, for so incomplete, than perfection
itself. We human beings
are anomaly at its best within the concept we call Life; in the
continuous search for
truth we become aware of how our imperfection is a huge force as it
saves us from prejudice
and prevents us from mistakes, by appraising our best
engagements.” Perfection
is boring, imperfection is intriguing.
He exhibited in various
Italian and foreign cities. Among the most important: Milan, Rome,
Genova, Venice, Ferrara,
Padova, Vicenza, Novara, Forlì, Carrara, Pordenone, Gorizia,
Bologna, Treviso, Udine,
Aquileia, Trieste, Forte dei Marmi, Innsbruck (A), Stuttgart (D),
Budapest (H) and he is
mentioned in the „Catalogo dell‘arte Moderna, Mondadori“.
He is widely acknowledged
for the particularity and originality of his work. His works are
present in important
Italian and foreign private collections. The next realisation, the
installation of „Terzo
Paradiso“ („Third Paradise“) in Aquileia, will be in collaboration and
supervision by maestro
Michelangelo Pistoletto
