Outer

Simone Z Leao (aka Outer) was born in Brazil, lived across five continents, and calls Australia home for the last 15 years. With a background in engineering, the tension between reasoning and feeling has always accompanied her and found space in her creative work. Her art is focused on that layer that separates the inside and outside of an individual, what is exposed, what is hidden, and what flows in between. She aesthetically explores the dramatic expressions of the body to life through repetitive visceral patterns built as textile and mixed media 3D constructs. Outer is an emergent artist, with few exhibitions in regional Australia in 2022 and a member of the lead committee of the Noosa Open Studios 2023.
