Rebecca Laptes is a young Romanian visual artist currently studying at the “Dimitrie Cuclin” Arts High School in Galați, Romania. Her practice spans oil painting, charcoal, drawing, ink, and sculptural exploration, through which she investigates themes of emotional tension, escapism, intimacy, inner restraint, and human connection.
Her recent works combine figurative structures with poetic and cinematic visual language, balancing realism with conceptual undertones. Through layered techniques, expressive color contrasts, and ongoing experimentation with chromatic intensity and emotional atmosphere, she develops a contemporary visual narrative centered on psychological states and human relationships.
Rebecca’s recent body of work includes Flight for Few, a symbolic exploration of escape and isolation, Self-Restraint, focused on emotional control and internal release, and an ongoing series investigating intimacy and resonance through hybrid human–instrument forms.
In 2026, her work was selected for exhibition at the International Art Museum of America (IAMA), San Francisco. During the past years, she has also received recognition in several national youth art competitions in Romania.
Rebecca continues to develop a contemporary artistic language focused on symbolism, atmosphere, material experimentation, and emotional resonance.
