Lan Chung-Hsuan (b. 1991 in Taipei, Taiwan) holds an MFA in Fine Arts from Pratt Institute, New York. He recreates, erases, or rearranges readymade images, historical documents, vintage and contemporary objects about war and disaster to explore the possibility of the absence of identity. His recent exhibitions include group show "Covered Reality: Archival Orientation and Identity in Taiwanese Contemporary Photography" (2022) at National Taiwan Museum of Fine Arts, Taichung, Taiwan; group public project "Futurology Kiosk - Future Nostalgia FM" (2022) in Weimar, Germany; solo show "Residual Heat" (2021) at AKI Gallery Leipzig Prospect, Leipzig, Germany. Lan has participated residency programs such as Arteles Creative Center, Finland and 3331 Arts Chiyoda, Japan. His selected awards include Arte Laguna Prize, TDCC Contemporary Arts Award. Lan’s works could be found in the collections of Taiwan Depository & Clearing Corporation, Ardmore Three Singapore, Art Bank by National Taiwan Museum of Fine Arts, Shin Kong Mitsukoshi Cultural & Educational Foundation.
