Lam Ly graduated in 1995 from Newcastle University with a First Class Degree in Fine Art. After a break she returned to her first passion of making art in 2010. Since then, she has mainly exhibited in group exhibitions. Notably, her installation "The House Is In" as part of Engage!Art Exhibition at South Hill Park in Bracknell, was extended from a weekend to four months on the request of the Art Centre. She also presented two works, “Earthbound VIIII” and “Earthbound VIII,” at the Dark Arts exhibition at Candid arts in London. Earlier this year, she was selected for the Artrooms International Art Fair and participated in an exhibition organised by Blue Dot Generation, about the human relationships with the ocean, aiming to raise awareness of plastic pollution.
Lam Ly’s work is primarily rooted in Sculpture but finds herself venturing into other mediums through curiosity and necessity. Her work predominately revolves around the theme of the line underscored by her fascination with sacred geometry; the basic components where everything is constructed.
