Based in Spain and Hong Kong, I am an artist whose work focuses on capturing the essence of landscapes, nature, and creatures, intricately interwoven with miniature design elements. My artistic journey is deeply influenced by the juxtaposition of nature's beauty and brutality, the relentless cycle of life's struggles and my professional background as a graphic designer.
Graduated from Emily Carr University of Art and Design, I spent most of my early career as a graphic designer. In 2009, I held my first solo exhibition, ‘2.0_riddle’, at Slower Gallery at the Fringe Club in Hong Kong, and published my first art book, tears_1.0, in the same year. I continued working in commercial art until I moved to Spain in 2016 and rekindled my passion for painting.
My creative process begins with elements I find in nature, guided by an inherent grand design that shapes my work. By merging these natural elements with meticulous design, I strive to reflect the complex harmony and underlying order present in the natural world.
Through my art, I seek to foster a deeper connection between my audience and nature. In a world filled with noise and destruction, I aim to create a sanctuary of calm and reflection. My paintings invite viewers to pause and appreciate the often overlooked details of nature, encouraging a profound respect for its intricate beauty and delicate balance. By presenting nature in an intimate and microscopic way, highlighting the interplay between the grand and the minuscule, I hope to provoke reflection and inspire meaningful changes, promoting a more mindful and sustainable relationship with the natural world.
