Agnese Kurzemniece studied painting at J. Rozentāls Riga Art High School from 1984 to 1991. After graduating from the Graphics Department of the Latvian Academy of Arts, she obtained her Master's Degree in Graphic Arts from 1991 to 1998, as well as completing the Gunārs Krollis etching workshop. In 2012, she continued her education and work in Spain at Henrik Boegh's non-toxic gravure printing workshop, Grafisk Experimentarium.
Agnese was born and raised in Riga, where she still resides and creates. She specializes in painting and graphic art. Her art is often inspired by nature, with its endless manifestations, as well as the world of women.
Since 1990, Agnese has participated in numerous exhibitions, both locally and internationally, across Latvia, Lithuania, Great Britain, Italy, USA (New York), France, Austria, Sweden, Ukraine and Greece. She has also held several solo exhibitions and her work is featured in private collections worldwide, as well as in the Daugavpils Mark Rothko Art Centre, Ventspils Museum and Ogre Art and History Museum.
Agnese is a member of the Union of Latvian Artists and the Graphics Chamber of Latvia.
