ARTIST STATEMENT
My artistic practice is an extension of my spiritual practice. I have spent a lot of time living in Buddhist monasteries on silent retreats, where I explored myself, and this path led me to the study and practice of Tibetan Buddhism. For me, spiritual practice takes precedence in life, and therefore I decided to intertwine it with my artistic practice tounderstand if my art can help me advance on this path. All the experience I have gained is reflected in my art.

I call my paintings my contemplative exercises, where the process of creating the painting is of utmost importance. The paintings are abstractions with elements of landscapes, based on the principles of landscape images in Tibetan art, where the five elements - water, earth, air, fire, and space - as well as other symbols, animals, and plants are present. It is precisely the elements from Tibetan art that enhance my remembrance of the practice.
The viewer, interacting with my art, also has the opportunity to explore the boundless depths of their attention and inner peace. In each painting, I hide an element, often seamlessly blending it with the larger composition, and invite the viewer to find it. Thus, the moment of interaction with the painting becomes a moment of contemplation. In my work, I use a combination of traditional Asian ink painting as a nod to Asia, where many spiritual practices, including Buddhism, originated, and where I have lived for many years.I also integrate modern techniques, which refer to Western culture - the place where I was born and where I have spent most of my life.
