As a self-taught artist, Marieke Oudejans developed a highly personal, robust painting style.
She paints portraits, nudes, landscapes and stills in a colorful and figurative way.
She makes installations in order to make us realize how fragile we are.
As daughter of an architect, Marieke Oudejans grew up surrounded by progressive artists and architects. She is a close friend of Joep van Lieshout and other artists and exhibits alongside her many artist friends.
She is inspired by early 1900’s modernism, expressionism, popart and many different styles. Despite these influences, she is never associated with a particular movement.
Marieke Oudejans is a progressive artist who brings artistic autonomy and original innovation to a higher level, often with small groups of intellectuals and artists.
