Born in Tokyo, lived and worked in Paris, London, and New York. Over 30 years of experience as an art director. Creating images inspired by the formal beauty of Kabuki, where actors' personalities, movements, costumes, and scene settings are all governed by centuries-old traditions. Personalities in his work are overdressed in a mixture of Japanese and Western costumes, unexpressive or masked as if they belong to the traditional Noh play. My work often shows the absurdity of life, the subtle balance of relationships, and the sorrow of miscommunication.
