Vandana Krishna is a contemporary artist based in Mumbai, India. A self-taught painter, her practice spans figurative, semi-abstract, and abstract forms, exploring themes of memory, emotion, and the extraordinary within everyday life.
Drawing from both Indian and international modernist traditions, Vandana has developed a distinctive visual language that moves fluidly between figurative, semi-abstract, and abstract forms. Her work is characterized by expressive mark-making, layered textures, and intuitive colour relationships that explore the emotional dimensions of everyday experience.
Originally from a family with roots in Delhi and Punjab, Vandana's artistic perspective is informed by India's diverse cultural landscape and a sustained commitment to artistic inquiry alongside a distinguished career in public service. Her paintings invite viewers into spaces of contemplation, hope, and emotional resonance.
A notable milestone in her career was a commission from UNICEF to create a signature artwork on the theme of Mother and Child. Her work has been exhibited in India and is held in private collections.
Vandana lives and works in Mumbai.
