Heide Kränzlein is a photographer and digital artist based in Copenhagen by way of Berlin (2001-2014)
and Hamburg (2005-2007).
Her interest in photography was sparked by attending a photo work group in Gymnasium. The fascination grew the
following years and led her to pursue an internship at a fine art studio in Munich. Here she was taught analogue skills
from film processing to printing pictures in the laboratory and setting studio light.
She studied photography in Vienna before settling in Berlin in 2001, starting of her career as a photographic assistant.
Shortly after she started working as a photographer and earned jobs for several advertising agencies and magazines,
such as Quest Magazine, Financial Times Deutschland and SZ Magazin.
After spending half a year as interior photographer in Capetown, South Africa she came back to Germany and moved
to Hamburg,
where she underwent an education as creative retoucher and picture composer and worked on ad campaigns,
editorials and exhibitions in Berlin, Hamburg, Barcelona and New York.
After a couple of years perfecting her digital skills, she experimented with different techniques to manipulate her own
works.
Exploring recreation of new imagery by the different forms and levels of manipulating photographic material, in both
printed and onscreen work is playing a major role in her work.
Her works range from photographic design, collages, fine art to digital artwork and animation.
