Kristina Ćavar is a visual artist from Bosnia and Herzegovina. She graduated in Painting from the Academy of Fine Arts of the University of Mostar in 2008 and completed postgraduate studies in Ars Sacra in 2010. In 2026, she earned a Doctor of Arts degree with a dissertation focused on the symbolism of the star in sacred painting.
Her artistic practice explores the intersection of contemporary abstraction, sacred art, cosmology, and symbolism. Through painting, printmaking, and mixed-media works, she investigates celestial signs, constellations, and the spiritual dimensions of visual experience.
Ćavar has held 35 solo exhibitions and participated in more than 160 group exhibitions in Bosnia and Herzegovina and abroad. Her works are included in the permanent collections of the Franciscan Museum and Gallery, Široki Brijeg, and The National Gallery of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Alongside her artistic practice, she has worked as a curator, archivist, librarian, designer, photographer, and cultural project coordinator.
She lives and works in Široki Brijeg, Bosnia and Herzegovina.
