Deborah
Kolp

Deborah Kolp is a mother, grandmother and teaching artist who specializes in oils, drawing and mixed media.  She earned a degree in fine art with a painting concentration ay Watkins College of Art and design with additional studies in art education at Middle Tennessee University, Herron School of Art and Marian University.  Over the next 25 years Deborah taught both children and adults in schools, workshops and retreats while showing in multiple exhibitions throughout the Southeast and Midwest regions of the United States.  Now living in North Carolina, she enjoys working in her studio and gallery on a blueberry farm in the Blue Ridge Mountains where she participates in the bi-annual Toe River Art Studio Tour. 

Deborah is presently doing an MA at the Florence Academy of Art in Italy where she is studying tge academic method of painting. 

"My creative core comes from the interaction of personal spiritual transformation and social justice...having an ear to the ground with a sense of the vast interiority of the human person.  Gathering what resonates deeply has been a great process for editing out the non-essential in a visual context."

Deborah's work has been published in multiple forums dealing with art and spirituality and collected by therapists, retreat centers and Episcopal/ Catholic Churches.
