Deborah Kolp is a mother, grandmother and teaching artist who specializes in oils, drawing and mixed media. She is presently completing a MA in academic painting at Florence Academy of Art. For th last 25 years Deborah has taught both children and adults in schools, workshops and retreats while showing in multiple exhibitions throughout the Southeast and Midwest regions of the United States. Now living in North Carolina, she enjoys working in her studio and gallery on a blueberry farm in the Blue Ridge Mountains where she participates in the bi-annual Toe River Art Studio Tour as well as having studio space in Asheville at Trackside and Tunnel Studios.
"My creative core comes from the interaction of personal spiritual transformation and social justice...having an ear to the ground with a sense of the vast interiority of the human person. Gathering what resonates deeply has been a great process for editing out the non-essential in a visual context."
Deborah's work has been published in multiple forums dealing with art and spirituality and collected by therapists, retreat centers and Episcopal/ Catholic Churches.
