Mateusz Kokot (b. 1992, Tarnowskie Góry, Poland) is a Polish visual artist working across moving image, photography and installation. He graduated with honours from the Academy of Fine Arts in Katowice in 2018 and received his PhD there in 2024. Since 2022 he has been a lecturer at the University of Silesia in Cieszyn. His work explores landscape as a space where natural processes and cultural memory intersect. Through strategies of recontextualization, he investigates how abandoned objects, traces and environments gradually lose their original function and acquire new meanings.
