Born in 1985 in Japan, I spent my childhood
immersed in books and the tactile joy of making mud dumplings. My early
fascination with the nature of reality led me to study physics, culminating in
a master’s degree in 2010. After several intense years in the corporate world,
I returned in 2016 to the primal act of making — this time through ceramics.
Through clay, I reconnected with the
intuitive creativity of my youth and began to explore how time, memory, and
identity can be embedded in form. Since 2019, I have regularly exhibited my
work in juried exhibitions across Japan, and my practice now merges traditional
craft techniques with conceptual and metaphorical inquiry.
My sculptures and vessels often take on archetypal
or enigmatic forms, drawing from both Eastern and Western symbolism. I see my
work as a form of quiet resistance — to speed, to superficiality — and as a
meditation on continuity. Each piece is an attempt to give shape to something
forgotten, or not yet known.
