Jelena Kevic (b. 1982, Belgrade) is a visual artist based in Berlin.
Her work explores the body as an unstable form- fragmented, shifting, and in constant
transformation. Through oil painting on canvas and linen, she builds layered surfaces that blur
the boundary between figuration and abstraction, often hovering at the edge of recognition.
Kevic holds a degree in graphic design and spent over a decade working as an art director in
the entertainment industry, developing visual languages for games, comics, and animated
worlds. This experience informs her sensitivity to atmosphere and visual storytelling, though her
painting practice turns inward, toward emotional resonance, material process, and ambiguity.
Her current work focuses on the female form as a site of tension and projection, often
interrupted, obscured, or partially erased. She is drawn to the moments when presence
becomes unstable- where identity, memory, and intimacy surface briefly, then dissolve. Her
paintings do not aim to resolve or explain, but to hold that space of uncertainty, vulnerability, and
quiet resistance.
