My name is Alena Karnila. I was born in Belarus and now live in Lisbon. Trained as an architect, I work as a UX designer, but I turned to painting as a more personal and free way of exploration.
I create in abstraction and acrylic, where color becomes my primary language. It allows me to speak about what cannot be expressed in words: feelings, silence, inner movement, and transformation.
My paintings emerge as a dialogue with myself and as a space, so that each person may find in them a reflection of their own experiences. In 2025, I became a finalist of the Tooltip Art Gallery competition, which inspired me to continue exploring light, movement, and the subtle states of the human soul through color.
