Artist Statement and Biography
I am known for my expressive and abstract landscape paintings, often featuring the color blue as a central element. My work explores the human relationship with nature and personal emotions, symbolizing at times sorrow, melancholy, and peace, and at other times strength and energy. My mixed-media approach combines painting and photography to create evocative and thought-provoking pieces.
I studied art at the Taik, Helsinki school of art and design and have since worked as a visual art teacher at both the Turku University. Alongside my teaching, I have continued my own artistic projects and have exhibited my work both in Finland and internationally.
My work has been exhibited at venues such as the Kunsthalle Helsinki, the Tampere Art Museum, and the WAM. I have also received several art awards, including a grant from the city of Hämeenlinna.
My aim is to create art that evokes emotions and makes the viewer think. I hope my art inspires people to reflect on their own place in the world and their relationship with themselves and nature.
