Minsung Jung is a media artist who graduated from Seoul National University of Arts with a degree in digital art. He has been sensitive to various technologies followed by timeliness and has been producing works using them. It has generally aimed at interactive art in that it can increase immersion using audience or user data, and has continued to work in a wide format, ranging from kinetic installation to art suitable for virtual environments such as LED installation and VR/AR performance.
As a media artist standing in the middle of art and technology, I think the consideration of technology is the first priority. Treat technology as a simple semantic transmission tool, or try to avoid giving unnatural meaning, and focus on placing technology exactly where it is needed in the work. At the planning stage of the work, the process of conveying the meaning and appreciation we want to contain is clarified, avoiding the phenomenon that the work relies on the sophistication of the technology, and allowing the technology to exist as a member of the storytelling of the work.
