Born in Serbia, Strahinja Jovanović completed his early education in Kruševac, where his passion for the intersection of art and science first emerged. From 2014 to 2018, he was a student at Petnica Science Center, deepening his interdisciplinary approach. At 19, he moved to Slovenia to study at the Academy of Fine Arts and Design in Ljubljana, where he now lives and works. Influenced by Victor Vasarely, Alan Turing, and Plato, his research revolves around generative nature, existence, and parametric design.
His first major exhibition took place at UAAB 2020, the Utazu Art Award Biennial in Japan. In 2020–2021, he expanded his expertise in programming and information design as an exchange student at Aalto University in Finland. He later completed his master's degree at the Academy of Fine Arts and Design in Ljubljana, exploring the fusion of nature, algorithms, and design through technology and science. His work delves into themes of morphogenetic and biomorphic design, reimagining the future of human interaction with designed artifacts.
Jovanović's innovative approach has earned him three prestigious Graphis New Talent Awards (2023–2024) in New York for Manifest of Algorithms, Micro-Greens Calendar, and Infinity. In 2024, he exhibited his work at the Slovenian Ethnographic Museum (Time and Materiality), the Small Gallery of the Slovenian Bank (From Words to Images), and the National Institute of Biology (#Cellullale).
In 2025, he received Slovenia’s Prešern Award for his master's thesis, Fussil Design: Cellular Automation Between Nature and Algorithms. This project explored the fundamental nature of cells and morphogenetic design, introducing the concept of co-designing with nature. His work blurs the line between art and design, offering fresh perspectives on how we interact with designed objects.
Currently, Jovanović is part of the Young Rog program, developing breathable design solutions to combat air pollution. He also works as a graphic designer and visual artist in Ljubljana, continuing to push the boundaries of interdisciplinary design.
