Bio
Sara Jot Jaśkiewicz is a Polish visual artist working across textile sculpture, spatial installation, painting, and fiber-based practices. Her work explores the body as a dynamic field of tension, memory, and transformation, drawing on posthumanist thought, somatic experience, and the material language of tissues, membranes, flows, and organic systems.
She graduated with distinction from the European Academy of Arts in Warsaw and completed the Textile Department at an art high school, receiving an award for the best diploma. Her diploma was developed under the supervision of Julian Pałka, a key figure of the Polish School of Posters, awarded at the 2nd International Poster Biennale in Warsaw in 1968—the same edition in which Andy Warhol received an award in the cultural poster category. This educational background, rooted in both textile practice and the strong visual discipline of Polish poster art, continues to inform her sensitivity to structure, rhythm, image, and spatial tension.
The artist creates suspended fiber structures and paintings that evoke nervous systems, bodily interiors, protective membranes, and biological flows while avoiding literal representations of anatomy. Through repetitive gesture, material accumulation, the density of line, and the use of color, she develops forms that exist between fragility and force, protection and rupture, organic growth and systemic overload. Jaśkiewicz treats fiber, line, and the painted surface as equal languages for recording embodied memory—carriers of time, tension, and internal states.
Recently, the artist has been recognized three times by ArtConnect, which led to her participation in an immersive exhibition at Backhaus Projects in Berlin, featuring projection mapping. Her work has been published in Fiber Art Nowand selected for the curated exhibition VIVID, organized by Fiber Art Now at the Herrig Center for the Arts in Florida, USA. She was also selected for RED FILTER, a curated international exhibition organized by Lisa Rockford at the Gasper Arts Center in Florida, USA. In addition, she was invited to participate in an in-depth artist interview published in Suboart Magazine, highlighting her practice and the conceptual foundations of her work.
